The 4th Symposium on Redesigning Student Learning Experience in Higher Education (RSLEIHE) was co-organised by the HERDSA Hong Kong Branch, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and The University of Hong Kong (HKU) on 24 February 2024 (Saturday). Over 100 participants and guests attended the symposium to share and exchange ideas on redesigning student learning experiences.
Under the main theme of “Co-Creating the Future of Education”, 16 teams from seven local institutions presented their projects on four sub-themes and competed for three categories of awards. In the end, a team from HKU won the Champion, with other awards going to HKU, HKBU, and HKUST.
This symposium represents a significant milestone and outcome of the IICA project, successfully bringing together students and colleagues from different higher institutions in Hong Kong through professional engagement. It marks the culmination of the RSLEIHE award scheme that aims to create and share student-centred, future-oriented teaching and learning experiences. These experiences engage and empower students while meeting their future needs in a meaningful way.
Moreover, the establishment of a Community of Practice (CoP) for Student Partnership was announced in the symposium, aiming to transform educational engagement through student-staff collaboration. Educators, students, and professionals passionate about the future of education and student partnership are encouraged to join the community to cultivate a long-lasting culture of student involvement and participation in higher education together.
